Concrete Cleaning Sealing
The Ultimate Concrete Sealing in Struthers, OH
Our Proprietary Siloxane-Silane Sealer
Sealing your concrete is one of the best ways to extend its lifespan and keep it protected. Since there are several different types of concrete sealer on the market, it is important to make the best decision for your concrete as well as your wallet. At Gunner Pressure Washing, we protect driveways, patios, and more with our proprietary siloxane-silane sealer designed to strengthen porous concrete surfaces.
What is siloxane-silane sealer?
Siloxane-silane sealers are designed to penetrate the pores of the concrete. Once applied, the sealer will chemically bind the concrete from within and help prevent structural damage caused by freeze-thaw cycles. Once the sealer settles, it will not change the look or feel of your concrete.
How long after you wash are you able to seal?
Siloxane-silane sealers are partially water-based and applied directly to wet concrete. Generally, sealers that require a few days before applying are acrylic or polyurethane sealers. These sealers change the look and feel of the concrete and need time for the concrete to fully dry out. Two major drawbacks of these types of topcoat sealers are that they wear unevenly and can potentially trap stains between the sealer and the concrete.
How long does concrete sealer take to dry?
It generally takes as long to dry as water on the surface would. Assuming it is a dry day, you can expect your concrete to look fully dried within a couple of hours. If applied in light rain, the sealer should still penetrate the concrete and get to work.
How long before I can drive on sealed concrete?
The fast-acting nature of our siloxane-silane sealer is one of its many strengths. You will be able to safely drive on the concrete after roughly 30 minutes without compromising the sealer, but we recommend waiting until the concrete appears to be dry.
How do you apply siloxane-silane sealer to wet concrete?
As previously mentioned, our partially water-based sealer applies directly to wet concrete surfaces. Additionally, the siloxane-silane sealer is breathable and will not trap stains. The sealer’s breathability also makes it re-treatable on the off chance that we need to touch anything up for you.
Our professionals work tirelessly to provide the best results for any porous concrete surface on your property.
BENEFITS OF CONCRETE SEALING
1
Prevents Cracks
Sealing concrete patios is common for homeowners who want to prevent cracks. Over time, weather, water, and pests will inevitably cause cracks in concrete patios. When water gets into these cracks, it can freeze and expand during the winter months. This expansion can cause your patio to crumble and crack further. If you choose not to seal your concrete patio regularly, then it may only be a matter of time before you notice large holes and major structural damage not only unsightly but expensive as well!
2
Repels Moisture
Without proper sealing, concrete patios can become very porous, allowing moisture to seep through it. This leads to an increased amount of trapped water within your patio, and an increased amount of trapped water means that you’re in danger of rot or mold forming within your slab. Having a slab that’s been properly sealed will repel moisture, meaning that you won’t have any standing water, and you won’t have to worry about mold or mildew growth as a result.
3
Lasts Longer
Sure, concrete is a relatively durable surface. It’s not going to chip or crack easily, which is one of its primary benefits over other materials. But that doesn’t mean it won’t require some sealing at some point in its life span. As concrete cures and ages, it can become rough and pitted; sealers can help smooth out these surfaces and make them look as good as new. Sealers also help give a smoother texture to concrete, so it’s easier on bare feet and easier to clean with chemicals. Sealing will prevent stains from penetrating your patio or decking material – making it much easier to keep clean!
